** We gather at the Lord's Table (communion) on the every first Sunday of every month, unless there is a scheduled change denoted with ** above.
** We invite the Children’s Ministry participants (X-Stream Kids grades 2-5, Catalyst, & Confirmation) to participate at the Lord’s Table. If you would prefer your child not partake in communion, please let your child’s teacher or our Director of Family Ministries (Jenny Babb) know.
2024 is The Year of Invitation at The River! We will begin 2024 with a journey through the Gospel of John and exploring the ways that Jesus has invited us to know Him, to follow Him, and our call to invite others to do the same.
“with us”
The birth of Jesus means God is not distant—God is with us. We are not alone in this life and this reality changes everything. This Advent, we will discover how the “withness” of God leads to God’s presence and an abundant life in our own lives.

“HUNGER & THIRST”
Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. These celebrations typically include memorable gatherings of family and friends around the dinner table. We will consider what the Bible has to say about food, and how it relates to our Christian walk. The Bible teaches us to hunger after the things of God and to taste and see that God is good. We will be examining key texts from both the Old and New Testament to discover the relationship between physical nourishment and spiritual nourishment. There is plenty of great food, and we must also be watchful for the ‘junk food’ of false teaching that provides no growth or nourishment for the Christ follower.

"ELECT TO TRUST JESUS”
The weeks, and even months, leading up to an election can be stressful and disorienting. It's a human tendency to put our security and hope in our leaders. Or, alternatively, our worry and fear. What if we stepped back and considered where our true hope really is…in Jesus. We will embark on a journey leading up to the election by considering that there is an incredible option that can get lost in all of the ‘noise’--we can Elect to Trust Jesus. We will be considering just four of countless reasons why we can trust Jesus, not just during an election cycle, but for our entire life.

“RESET”
Who doesn't need some type of reset in their lives? For believers and seekers alike, it starts with a prayer for a fresh start. The Reset then continues as they dig into Scripture and discover a passion to share their story and Jesus with those around them. This sermon series invites us to experience a reset in our lives as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus.
