Sleep In Heavenly Peace has built and delivered nearly 200,000 beds across the US. These beds are built and delivered by volunteers. There is currently a need for 39 beds for children in Robertsville–less than 20 miles from The River at Eureka. Here’s the good news, you can be the hands and feet of Jesus to provide these beds by investing a few hours of your time on Saturday, September 21st at a bed build event in Union, MO.
The River at Eureka is having its first formal event for youth as homecoming dances are upon us. We will have dresses, shoes, accessories, suits, dress shirts, ties, and shoes to choose from. These events will be held in the lower level at the River @ Eureka (215 N. Central Ave.)
Monday, September 16th, 4-8pm
Please spread the word. It is amazing watching the teenagers who come into these events a little hesitant and maybe embarrassed and walk out with a huge smile. This is possible because of you and our church community. Thank you!

WOW (Women of Worship) is kicking off our Annual Gift Card Drive early this year! Our church leadership team often hands out gift cards to people in need, sometimes our church members, but also folks who just need a helping hand when they have fallen on hard times. This gift card drive has traditionally been held around the Christmas holiday as this is a time of great need. This year, WOW is holding this gift card drive a bit earlier, in hopes of not crushing Christmas time budgets.
Please see our autumnal tree in the Commons starting Sept. 15. Take a leaf (or several!), purchase the requested gift card and drop both your leaf and the gift card into the giving box under the tree. This campaign will run for the next 6 weeks and we need generous giving to get our leaders and community through the holiday season. Thank you in advance to all who can participate.
"Generous persons will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25
Exact specifics will be updated as the date draws near.
Looking for additional chaperones, Mom/Dad you want to come too?
Questions, reach out to Renee or Andy Smola
We are hosting 3 events soon for those who need assistance and wishing to go to winter formal, homecoming, and prom. We are collecting formal dresses, shoes, and purses. But that’s not all… Why should we leave the young men out? We are also collecting business suits, ties, belts, and shoes for young men.
High school formals can be expensive and are often a luxury some do not get to enjoy. All who wish should be able to be a princess or a prince for the evening. Let’s make this a HUGE event… Share it with everyone you know.
You can drop these items off at the River at Eureka at 225 N. Central Ave, Eureka or contact Renee and she will arrange to meet you somewhere to collect items. We are collecting items through September 15, 2024.

NEW MEMBER CLASSES!
If you are ready to take the next step towards connection at The River at Eureka, please join us at the new member classes this Spring:
Sunday, July 21 @ 11:15 am - noon

Our missions lie beyond the walls of this church building. There is a need in our community to help prepare children for the upcoming school year and now is the time for us to step outside our four walls and show some love. Did you know that children are often anxious, bullied or made fun of when they don’t have a backpack or school supplies? You can help prevent that from happening by participating in the annual backpack drive organized by us (WOW; Women of Worship) to benefit children in our community who need assistance.
Look for the "backpack tree" with tags in the common area. There is one tag per child. It is important that you return the backpack WITH that tag as each child only has one tag.
We have some donated backpacks available for pick-up next to the backpack tree. See school supply list here. Additional lists will be near the tree as well.
Please return the FILLED backpacks to the commons area by Sunday, August 4th, 11am for distribution that afternoon.

Our first annual Charter Sunday is on Sunday, June 30th! What is Charter Sunday? This will be a time to recognize our first full year of being chartered as an independent church, a day to celebrate all of the new members that God has led to The River over the past year, and we will also celebrate God’s provision at the culmination of our Forever Forward capital campaign!
This will be an amazing Sunday at The River! Pastor Tim and Pastor David will both be preaching at both services from Philipians 2:12-15. After the worship services, EVERYONE will be invited to an all church BBQ lunch with plenty of great sides and snacks. There will be live music and numerous activities for families and kids to enjoy!
YEE HAW!!! We’re heading to Texas this year for our youth trip! On June 10, 2024, we will be embarking on this years Student Life rec trip! This is a transformative experience that all youth should attend.
If your youth would like to attend, please let me know at andrew.smola@theriver.church to secure your spot. As the camp fills up, we will have fewer options with space. Currently, the cost to attend will be $500. This includes food, transportation and camp. To offset the camp cost, youth can raise money individually through volunteering for the bread table. We are also planning a youth fund raising event to raise money to pay for the food and transportation, which will lower the camp cost.
For questions or more information contact Andrew Smola andrew.smola@theriver.church
We have just entered into summer break, but it's also time to think about backpacks for the upcoming school year. Please share the Backpack Request form with any family who may need help with supplies for the upcoming school year. Request forms must be received by the Eureka Food Pantry by July 21. Supply list for filling the backpacks will be available near the end of July. Backpacks will be distributed to families the week of August 4th.
Please reach out if there are any questions.
